Since Nollywood is the richest movie industry in Africa, in effect, the players which largely comprise the actors and producers and directors and all who plays pivotal role in making film in the industry are quite richer than their colleague in other movie industry in Africa, example, Ghallywood which is Ghana movie industry.

But looking critically at Nollywood actors and actresses, there is a striking difference between their wealth, at least what they display in the glare of the public which they claim to be their accumulated wealth and success somehow.

In fact, these actresses and actors are undoubtedly also Nollywood A-list Actresses and Actors. So, why are the actresses in Nollywood richer and more successful than actors in the industry?

In this post, we are giving tangible reasons that make Nollywood actresses richer and successful in the industry than actors.

Back to the subject on reasons why Nollywood actresses looks richer and successful than Nollywood actors.

Omotola Jalade

Does The Actress Sell Themselves To Rich Men?

There is an iota of truth in the speculation that Nollywood actresses trade their body in exchange for money with billionaires in Nigerian and to larger extent Africa.

Is this a fact, well, we cannot affirm it, but base upon some interview by Nigerian billionaire Ned Nwoko, who is the husband of Nollywood A-List Actress Regina Daniels, publically said he married her to save her from prostitution.

With this explosive statement of Ned Nwoko, he clearly confirmed that, lot’s of Nollywood actresses are into prostitution and we cannot look over the fact.

Destiny Etiko

Recently, when A-List Actress Destiny Etiko displayed his new customized brand new Land Rover, there was a whole lot of speculations on social media that she couldn’t afford the car but a Nigerian politician bought it for her. According to the rumors, the supposed politician could be her suger daddy or one of her sugar daddies.

According the one of the biggest Nigerian entertainment blog Naijaloaded, about 98% of Nollywood Actresses are into trading their body for money and that account their riches and success in the industry.

2 Nollywood Actresses Get More Endorsement Deals Than Actors?

Ini Edo

Of course yes. Female in Nollywood and Nigeria Entertainment Industry at large get more juicy endorsement deals than their male colleagues in the industry.

One reason is that, companies especially who sell products like skincare products usually go for female celebrities like actresses to be the face of their product, thereby earning the actresses big endorsement deals then the male.

Of, corporate companies will always go for a good-looking actress to represent their brand other than a good-looking actor.

One recent example is the just ended Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 5 which Laycon who is a male contestant won the Reality Show. However, after the contest, her colleague female contestants; Erica Nlewedim, Dorathy Bachor, Victoria Adeyele A.K.A Vee and other female contestants are bagging huge and more endorsement deals than the male contestants like Nelson Enwerem Prince, Terseer Waya A.K.A Kiddwaya

Endorsement deals have become one of the major sources of income of Nollywood actresses lately which is has become an unfortunate disadvantage to the actors in Nollywood.

3 Are Nollywood Actors Spending More Of Their Wealth Than Actresses?

Tonto Dikeh

In a broader perspective yes, Nollywood actors spend more money than their colleague female actresses.

Some of the actors are married and have kids and families who they are taking care of.

In Africa settings, men are in charge and hold the responsibility to cater for his family, meaning the man is responsible to take care of his family from his own purse.

This culture is deep rooted to the extent that, the youth have adopted when dating. The boyfriend is always expected to spend on his girlfriend in their dating relationship.

It’s also so deep that, once a woman is well-off to support or take the responsibility of her family or boyfriend, she turns to lose respect for her man and act like the man factor in the relationship.

So, in reality, while the actors are spending their money, the actresses are saving and investing their money which returns, make them richer and successful than the actors in Nollywood.
